Research Experience for Teachers
The Department of Physics and Astronomy offers summer research opportunities for high school teachers as part of the National Science Foundation’s Research Experience for Teachers (RET) program. RET enhances high school physics education by giving teachers the opportunity to participate directly in department research efforts and to develop new techniques for engaging students, new lab experiments and demonstrations, or other pedagogical components. The RET program runs in conjunction with our Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) program.
Details about the RET program and the application materials are available here (PDF).
Additional opportunities for teachers to participate in summer and in-year professional development workshops are available on our Outreach page.
