Physics and Astronomy - Course Details

PHYS570J (PHYS57000)

Summer, Fall, Spring

Biological systems present a complex environment with many interrelated parts. In this course we will apply quantitative physical models to biological materials and cellular circuits. The course will be generally divided in two sections: 1) molecular and cellular mechanics and 2) regulation and noise in systems biology. The course will draw concepts from statistical mechanics, continuum mechanics, dynamical systems, and stochastic processes to describe cell function.
