PHYS580 class for Wed., October 4 is cancelled due to unavoidable conflict. I will try to make it up later in the semester. I am sorry for the inconvenience. In the mean time, please read App. E (NOT F as I mis-announced in class today) of our text to be ready for an accelerated discussion in class on Wed., next week. App. E is about numerical integration (both deterministic and stochastic methods), and it is relevant to the second part of Chap. 5 and Lab 8.
App. F is about random number generation and is relevant to a problem in Homework 3, but not directly relevant to Chap.5 or Lab 8.
I apologize for the inconveniences that might result by the cancellation of our class for this Wednesday. I will try to make up in the rest of the semester.
